Handling of Personal Data

iCAT Corporation (“iCAT”) establish the following policy regarding the protection of Personal information and build, implement, review and improve its internal management system.

 

1. Acquisition of Personal information

We may acquire Personal information to the extent necessary for the instances such as handling inquiries regarding our products, services, seminars and other events. Some of the means to acquire Personal information include the following.

  • The person or medical-related institutions (including dental clinics and dental technicians) that hold such Personal information
  • Publicly available data from government agencies, etc.
  • Data published on websites, newspapers, magazines, etc.
  • Data published on TownPage (phone book)
  • Published directories of related academic societies, etc.
2. Purposes of use of Personal information

We use the acquired Personal information for the following purposes. The following purposes are subject to change within the reasonable scope that is considerably relevant. In the event of a change, we notify or make a public announcement.

  • To provide customers with information on our products and services (including catalogs)
  • To deliver and install our products at the customer's designated place
  • To provide aftersales service and maintenance of our products
  • To control the quality of our products, to fulfill legally mandated record-keeping obligations and to report to the relevant authorities
  • To conduct surveys related to product development and service improvement, such as usage and satisfaction surveys of our products
  • To provide information periodically, that related to the business or other activities of iCAT or our affiliates through mail magazines, direct mail, etc.
  • To contact customers in case of emergency
  • To confirm and provide information necessary for customers to use various seminars
  • To respond to questions, opinions, and requests from customers
  • For other purposes within the scope permitted by laws and regulations
3. Safe management of Personal information

In order to safely and appropriately manage and operate our customers' Personal information, we implement reasonable and strict safety measures to prevent risks such as unauthorized external access, loss, damage, destruction, falsification, leakage, and unauthorized disclosure of Personal information.

In addition, we establish internal rules for safe management and thoroughly educate our employees on the protection of Personal information.

4. Disclosure and provision of Personal information to third Parties

We shall not provide Personal information obtained from the customer to any third party except under the following conditions.

  • With the consent of the owner of the particular personal information
  • When we provide Personal information as Anonymous Processed Information, which is information about an individual obtained by processing personal information so that the individual cannot be identified by taking measures prescribed by laws and regulations, and such personal information cannot be restored.
  • When we outsource the handling of Personal information to a third party in order to provide better service to our customers (in this case, we select a contractor that is recognized as handling Personal information properly, and we conclude an agreement with the contractor to prevent leakage or re-provision of Personal information. We also instruct and supervise the contractor to implement appropriate management of Personal information)
  • Disclosure required by Law
  • To protect human life, human health, or property and when it is difficult to obtain the customer's consent.
  • When it is necessary to cooperate with a national agency, a local government, or an individual or entity entrusted by either a national agency or local government to execute affairs prescribed by law, and obtaining customer consent may impede the execution of such affairs.
  • When permitted by other laws and regulations.
5. Shared use of Personal information

We may share Personal information with affiliated companies within the scope of “Purposes of use of Personal information” as set forth in Article 2. In such cases, iCAT shall be responsible for managing the Personal information in such shared use.

6. Disclosure, Correction, Deletion of Personal Information

When we receive a request from a customer to disclose, correct, delete, or discontinue the use of Personal information, we respond to the request in accordance with the law.

7. Use of Cookies

Our website uses cookies (“Cookie”) for the following purposes. A Cookie is a technology that is used to store access information and identify the customer. You can set your browser to allow or block the use of Cookie. Please note that if you block the use of Cookie, you may not be able to use some of our services.

  • To collect statistical data to improve the convenience of our website users
  • To investigate the pages and operations viewed while accessing this website, the opening status of e-mails sent by us, and information on the viewing of individual links contained in e-mails.

We may update and change this Privacy policy from time to time to ensure the appropriate handling of Personal information. In such cases, we will promptly announce such changes on this website.
